After two decades of exploration, we have documented only very small segments of life in 47 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.
Still, each day we spent in a county made us curious about that place’s history. Especially when we spoke to the people we photographed.
All of them showed us what it meant to live where they lived. Each county has its own DNA — its own history, identity, culture, geography, and economy.
